Communication with the hotel was really easy, we checked in before we got there. There was a reception so we were given the keys by a lovely receptionist who was extremely lovely and helpful. The room was like a studio apartment. Full kitchen inc washing machine/dry that had detergent to use. The bed was extremely comfy and it was nice to have a seating area. There was BBC world news as the only English TV but sometimes you just want some background noise when you come home in the evening. There was also a kettle, which as a none coffee drinker I appreciate. Right in the heart of the old town it had a lovely feel and everything there is to see was only a few mins walk away. The hotel has lots details of things to do and restaurants to visit , which was really helpful (one restaurant was La Candela and the best food we had in 2 weeks in Spain) Cadiz can be very busy with tourist from Seville in the mornings, so it was lovely to spend a few days in this hotel and just lie in and then go out for lunch and by 2pm virtually have the town to yourself and go to visit the cathedral later in the afternoon and have a drink in the square outside in the afternoon sun. I would definitely stay here again, I loved the style of the hotel, staff and relaxed atmosphere of Cadiz.

The question, "How easy was it to collect the key upon arrival" is a good question. This property asked and asked me (by email) "When will you arrive?" Sometimes it is hard to say an exact time when travelling by car and not acquainted with the roads. When our route was blocked/shut down by the police, we found out why we were asked about our arrival time over several conversations. A beautiful local parade (3 Kings) was shutting down our streets. A direct warning to us would have been helpful INSTEAD of repeated, open questions about arrival time. This cultural difference in addressing a conflict was frustrating to us, and we wished for direct sentences about the road issue to warn us, i.e., not appropriately handled. It did not take away from the lovely location.

There are just nine rooms in this gem of a hotel. That means no lines of guests trying to get the attention of the staff, no interminable wait for answers to your questions. Because the staff, by necessity, is very lean, everyone of them knows about everything. That's not a minor point; ask any staff member any question and the answer is complete. You will not be told to see another staff member, or that it's not their area of control. Simply put, everyone really does know everything, so questions are dealt with immediately. Recommendations for shows, restaurants, places of interest and even the best walking routes were always great. Room was wonderful and the location could not have been better!

Beautiful building in the very centre of Cadiz. Plenty of hustle and bustle outside but the apartment was very quiet. Well equipped kitchen and plenty of space for 4 adults. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you are staying more than 2 days it is a good idea to buy the sightseeing bus tour as this is a good introduction to Cadiz and the basic ticket also includes entry to the Cathedral and Tower at no extra cost. You can also purchase the Catamaran ride as part of this ticket (if you fancy a boat trip around the Bay). We only found this out after paying for everything seperately!! D'oh!

No parking at this hotel but underground car park within 100 meters (Plaza San Antonio). Pedestrian only street with lots of restaurants and a small grocery store next door. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff in particular went out their way to check that we had everything we needed and assisted with the operation of the combined washer/dryer. The location is excellent. It is a 10 - 15 walk to most of the major attractions in the old city. The puppet museum was a fun 30 minutes but a slightly longer walk.
